The mining uses many materials handling equipment including conveyor systems, pump and pipeline to tranport both solid products and liquids. These equipment are subjected to heavy wear and abrasion. This equipment suffers from heavy wear and abrasion. Therefore, protection is needed so that there is no deterioration in the quality of the equipment material. Our product solutions include internal lining to prevent erosion & abrasion, external corrosion protection and emergency leak repair.

Concrete Bund Remediation & Chemical Resistant Coating

To prevent damage to concrete flooring caused by exposure to 60% Sulfuric Acid (H2SO4) and Sodium Hypochlorite (NaClo) at a maximum temperature of 43˚C in the 70 Mercury Scrubber area, the IRP team has initiated repairs on the concrete surface. Subsequently, the entire area (90m²) with potential chemical spills and external impact risks will be protected using a special coating, Resimac 511 Ultra Chemical Resistance, and Fiber Reinforced Discontinuous Mat (CSM 100 GSM). Aluminum oxide aggregate will be added to the top coat to enhance its anti-slip properties. 

External Corrosion Pada Furnace Area

The large number of straight pipes and the frequent need for recoating sometimes annually by the asset owner to protect pipes from contamination in the furnace area is further complicated by the narrow access between these pipes. This poses a challenge for coating application, as standard surface preparation of at least SA2.5 is required to achieve optimal coating bonding. 

IRP’s Trenton Wax Tape System provides a highly effective and efficient solution for external corrosion protection, offering long-term durability. The system is also praised for its minimal environmental impact, high tolerance for surface preparation, and rapid application time, making it a highly valued solution for such challenges.
